Mexican stock exchanges trade lower on Monday, amid concerns over new tariffs from U.S. President Donald Trump.
The benchmark index S&P/BMV IPC, of the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV), which tracks the most liquid local stocks, drops 1.41% to 52,435.63 points. The FTSE BIVA index, from the Bolsa Institucional de Valores (Biva), falls 1.46% to 1,061.62 points.

Within the reference index, most stocks trade down. Notable declines include Grupo BMV (-4.03% to 34.29 pesos), Grupo México (-3.78% to 100.94 pesos), and Regional (-2.68% to 133.02).
Trump stated on Sunday that the reciprocal tariffs he will announce this week will affect all nations. Last week, his mention of foreign manufacturers’ cars caused market jitters. Despite volatility, the stock market is poised for a monthly gain.
