Durango Leads in Highest Salary Increases: Conasami Report

The Technical Directorate of the National Commission for Minimum Wages (Conasami) released its monthly economic behavior report, highlighting that 640 salary reviews—both federal and local—were conducted in February. Durango state experienced the highest wage increase at 10.05 percent.

Federal Reviews: 387 Contractual Reviews

Among these, 387 federal contractual reviews involved 184,569 workers, achieving an average real increase of 3.9 percent.

Local Reviews: 253 Contractual Reviews

The local reviews totaled 253, affecting 65,717 individuals with a mean real increase of 6.6 percent.

Top Three Entities with Highest Increases:

  1. Durango: 10.05%
  2. Baja California: 6.8%
  3. Tamaulipas: 6.3%

The entities with the lowest increases were Oaxaca (1.5%), Quintana Roo (1.9%), and San Luis Potosí (2.3%).

Industry-Specific Increases:

Agriculture, livestock breeding, and animal exploitation; forest exploitation, fishing, and hunting reported 8.0 percent increases.

Transportation, postal services, and storage saw a 4.9 percent rise, while manufacturing industries experienced 4.6 percent growth.

Strike Activity in February 2025

During this period, 69 strike threats were registered. Thirty-one were for salary reviews, 25 for contract reviews, four for contract signings, eight for contract violations, and one for other reasons.

No federal strike outbreaks have been recorded this year; however, 17 ongoing strikes remain:

  1. Ingenio de Calipam (133 workers) – Contract law violation
  2. Lerrotex (125) – Contract violation
  3. Óxidos y Pigmentos Mexicanos (118) – Contract violation
  4. Mineral Tzapan (596) – Contract violation
  5. Transportadora Marítima de Baja California (11) – Two strikes for contract violations and review
  6. Alkemin, División Morelia (15) – Contract violation
  7. Transportes Aeromar, S.A. de C.V., among others.

Conasami also reported that minimum wages showed annual recovery (2024) with a 11.4 percent increase from December.
