CCE Suspends Concanaco-Servytur Provisionally

The Executive Committee of the Mexican Business Coordinating Council (CCE) has provisionally suspended the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco-Servytur).

This action leaves the third sector’s voice and vote absent from the peak business organization in Mexico until further notice.

According to Concanaco, the reason for this suspension by the six business entities that form the CCE was their public support for the reform of the INFONAVIT law proposed by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Concanaco argued that endorsing this initiative, which most businesspeople opposed, was crucial to expanding housing access for millions of workers, strengthening the domestic market, and promoting family well-being.

Octavio de la Torre, President of Concanaco, stated: “Unfortunately, this suspension occurs in a context of calls for business unity to defend the economic interests of Mexico.”

“Our Confederation reaffirms its absolute commitment to Mexico, legality, and institutional strengthening. We believe in transparent, modern, and aligned representation around those who promote development.”

He added, “We will continue to join the government’s initiatives along with state and municipal governments, without yielding to external pressures or personal interests detached from business development.”
