According to statements made by Howard Lutnick, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, to CNBC, discussions regarding the reduction of new tariffs have been ongoing for over a month following President Donald Trump’s announcement of a 10% global base tariff and significant reciprocal tariffs.
Lutnick stated that negotiations are underway with key international trade partners to adapt their rules to allow for more U.S. product imports, suggesting potential changes in tariff policies.
