Raicilla, once a prohibited drink for many years, originates mainly in Jalisco. It holds the largest portion of its denomination of origin across 16 municipalities.

Crafted from Agave angustifolia, known locally as ‘Chico Aguiar,’ this artisanal raicilla has maintained colonial production methods since the 17th century, thanks to dedicated families like Carbajal.
Founded in 1999 by Jorge Luis Carbajal’s parents, Hacienda El Divisadero aims to preserve the artisanal process of raicilla from harvest to distillation. The hacienda produces around 1,500 liters annually, promoting raicilla as a cultural beverage in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo Corrientes.
