Great Wall Motors (GWM) has introduced the Tank 500, a larger SUV that not only provides enhanced interior space but also impressive off-road capabilities. This new model is set to challenge the market with a competitive price point.
The Black Edition includes details like black emblems, roof rails, black wheels, red brake calipers, and smoked LED headlights.
The Tank 500 boasts a three-row seating configuration with an overall length exceeding 5 meters. Its design exudes premium character through features such as chrome inserts on the grille, sides, luggage racks, and even on the spare tire mounted on the tailgate. It also includes a panoramic roof, 19″ polished aluminum wheels, retractable sills, full LED lighting, and a sporty spoiler.
The value proposition is highly attractive thanks to its three-row layout and a fully equipped package at an extremely competitive launch price.
Mechanically, the Tank 500 is impressive. Its longitudinal parallel structure ensures high torsional rigidity. Powered by a turbocharged V6 engine with dual fuel injection, it generates 348 horsepower. It features a 9-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive (4WD) and a 4L low-range option called Hi4T. This setup is also classified as Mild Hybrid, exempting it from vehicle taxes.
Capacities include 22.5° front approach angle, 30° entry and 24° exit angles, plus a wading depth of 800mm. Eleven driving modes are available.
Equipment highlights include Nappa leather upholstery, electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, driver’s seat with 8 positions, heated steering wheel, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 14.6″ central display, Infinity audio system with 11 speakers and subwoofer, a 12.3″ instrument cluster, 360° camera, and Head Up Display.
