Empresas Investing in Machinery and Technology Despite Supply Chain Changes: Expo Fabtech 2025 Speaker

Despite ongoing changes in U.S. trade policy, companies will continue purchasing machinery and technology to enhance efficiency, according to David Luna, official spokesperson for Expo Fabtech 2025.

Luna shared this insight during a press conference, emphasizing that the event, set for May 6-8 at Cintermex, is crucial due to an anticipated economic impact of $200 million in deals expected to materialize within six months to a year.

Economic Boost and Business Opportunities

Jorge Arizmendi, Fabtech México’s Logistics Director, highlighted that this growth represents a 15% increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, an estimated $230 million in tourism spending is expected, considering logistics and operational activities start on April 27.

Industry Focus: Household Appliances Sector

Daniel Luna mentioned that the expo will feature discussions on the future of manufacturing and opportunities arising from supply chain restructuring. Notably, Nuevo León’s strong presence in household appliance production, with 80% of output exported to the U.S., will be a key topic.

Strengthening the Advanced Manufacturing Hub

Carlos Alberto Serna Gámez affirmed that despite current challenges, including tariffs, the cutting-edge technology showcased by U.S. companies reinforces Nuevo León’s status as an advanced manufacturing hub.

Maricarmen Martínez, Nuevo León’s Secretary of Tourism, underscored that Expo Fabtech 2025 contributes to the state’s international business destination positioning. She also noted the Secretariat of Equality and Inclusion’s commitment to ensuring events are inclusive and accessible.

The Largest Metalworking Exhibition

Occupying all exhibition space at Cintermex, Expo Fabtech 2025 spans 27,000 square meters and showcases over 400 machines, including heavy-duty presses and laser cutters. This setup allows visitors to experience real-time manufacturing processes and technologies reshaping the industry.

Backed by five North American associations—the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA), the American Welding Society (AWS), the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), and the Surface Technologies and Finishing Councils of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME)—the event anticipates over 13,700 national and international visitors, 450 exhibiting companies from more than 25 countries, and around 1,200 global brands.
