Initiatives to Improve Living and Working Conditions for Puebla Police

PUEBLA, Mexico: Governor Alejandro Armenta of Puebla emphasized the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance the living and work conditions of security personnel during the celebration of Police Day and the 60th anniversary of the creation of the State Police. In his speech, Armenta highlighted the significance of acknowledging over 14,500 security officers who daily safeguard Puebla’s families, while unveiling key initiatives to elevate their well-being.

Housing and Financial Support: In a message filled with gratitude towards the security forces, Governor Armenta detailed an all-encompassing program that allocates 145 million pesos for the improvement of police officers’ homes. This funding will primarily support the maintenance or acquisition of properties owned by the personnel. Officers without a place to live can also benefit from necessary equipment to enhance their living conditions.

Armenta further announced facilitating access to federal programs such as those offered by Conavi and Infonavit to encourage the construction of new homes for officers lacking a residence. In terms of security and protection, he revealed the acquisition of advanced units and technology to tackle risks inherent to their daily tasks.

Continuous Training: A key component of the government’s plan involves continuous education. Armenta highlighted the establishment of a University for Police Sciences and State Security, where officers can pursue further education and professional development. This initiative aims at not only enhancing their security skills but also fostering personal and professional growth.

Life Insurance and Support: To underscore the state’s commitment to officers’ welfare, Armenta announced a permanent life insurance policy worth 1 million pesos in honor of fallen officers. He reaffirmed that the government not only values their contributions but also acknowledges the dangers they face daily, promising unwavering support for both the officers and their families.

In a state of profound gratitude, Governor Armenta pledged to uphold a close-knit, humanistic government dedicated to social rights. He assured that wellness, security, and training initiatives will be executed in collaboration with federal and state authorities, aiming to elevate the quality of life for officers and their families, recognizing their vital service.

On Police Day, Governor Armenta expressed heartfelt appreciation for the tireless work and dedication of security forces, emphasizing that while they safeguard Puebla’s families, the government remains committed to protecting those who shield them.
